Built on a foundation of practical experience and essential theory, this program distills the core skills needed for success.
“When we stripped out the noise — only the silent essence remains.”
Developed by International Highfield Standards and Operators Development Center instructors with extensive field experience, this certification provides the foundational structure to elevate your Close Protection career to the highest market standards.
Throughout the course, you will engage in practical drills combined with real mission scenarios, demonstrating the true gap between classroom theory (essential up to a certain point) and the realities of dynamic operational environments.
This Level 3 certification, delivered by Operators Development Center instructors with extensive field experience, develops a professional standard of first aid capability that goes far beyond basic workplace training and aligns with modern pre‑hospital care expectations for high‑risk and demanding environments.
It is particularly suited for security operatives, close protection officers, team leaders and anyone expected to take charge in medical emergencies on the ground.
This is your foundation course, focused on building safe, correct and confident use of the 9mm pistol. It is ideal for beginners or operatives who want to standardize their skills to a professional level.
You will learn to:
• Apply strict firearms safety rules in all conditions
• Handle, load, unload and clear a 9mm pistol correctly
• Improve dexterity, weapon manipulation and trigger control
• Develop consistent accuracy through structured live‑fire drills
By the end of Level 1, you will be a safe, competent shooter with the control and precision required for further tactical development.
Level 2 takes your skills into dynamic and operational shooting, where you are no longer just hitting targets, but protecting people. The focus is on movement, decision‑making and realistic protective scenarios.
You will train to:
• Shoot on the move, use cover and change positions under stress
• Work in close proximity to a client while maintaining a safe and effective fire line
• Conduct emergency evacuations with a client while providing protective fire
• Respond to evolving threats using scenario‑based drills and timed exercises
Level 2 is built for active security and close protection operatives who need to function under pressure and integrate firearms skills into real operational duties.
Direct Coercive Measures is an intensive close protection module focused on decisive, high‑control interventions to stop aggression and extract the client from danger as quickly as possible. The course teaches operators how to neutralise a threat in seconds and immediately move off the “X” – the kill zone – while maintaining protection and situational awareness.
Participants learn:
• Fast, efficient control and disruption techniques designed for real‑world attacks at close range.
• How to transition instantly from verbal management to physical intervention and rapid evacuation with the client.
• Team communication, positioning and movement patterns that keep the principal shielded while breaking contact and relocating to safety.
This training is aimed at close protection operatives who need practical, high‑pressure skills they can apply on the street, not in theory, and who understand that the priority is always to stop the aggression and get the client out alive.
Convoy Driving Techniques (Defensive) is a specialised course designed for the close protection security driver who needs to move clients safely through complex, unpredictable and high‑risk environments. The training is delivered by instructors with active diplomatic driving experience in high‑risk areas (HRA), ensuring that every technique taught is grounded in real operational practice.
Course focus.
This course concentrates on professional convoy structures and how to build, brief and operate effective vehicle formations in different contexts. Participants learn how to adapt convoy composition to threat level, Road Traffic Infrastructure (RTI), vehicle types and mission profile.
Key skills you will gain
• Convoy techniques and positioning, including lead, follow, blocker and principal vehicle roles for close protection tasks.
• Adapting routes and driving style to changing road, traffic and threat conditions while maintaining security and discretion and anti-ambush drill.
International Diplomatic Protocol is a focused course for close protection agents operating in diplomatic and high‑level business environments, where behaviour and image are as critical as security. It prepares operatives to move confidently among diplomats, executives and VIPs without compromising professional standards or cultural expectations.
Participants learn the essentials of protocol and etiquette, including formal greetings, precedence, titles, seating arrangements and meeting conduct in international settings. The course also covers table manners and dining etiquette so that agents can support principals in official dinners, receptions and high‑profile events without drawing negative attention.
This training is ideal for professionals who want to stand out in the diplomatic and corporate protection market by combining tactical capability with polished, culturally aware conduct.
